Glass toys are one of the fastest growing sectors of the sensual toy industry. Why?
Glass toys are non-porous, so they do not absorb lubricants or bodily fluids, making glass a safe & easy-to-clean material choice. They are ideal for those who have environmental or chemical sensitivities. In addition, because glass toys are made from a heat and chemical resistant glass specially designed for intimate use, they have an enjoyably slick surface. Glass toys also retain temperature for hot/cold sensory play, and they can be used with any type of water-based or silicone lubricants.
Hot and Cold Sensory Play
Since glass toys retain temperature so well, users enjoy experimenting with temperature variation. Read below for instructions on how to safely heat or cool your glass toy.
To safely heat your glass toy
Begin with the glass toy already at room temperature. Take a large bowl and fill it with very warm tap water. Submerge the glass toy in the warm water for five minutes. Carefully pour out half of the water and fill the remainder of the bowl with boiling water. Allow the glass toy to set for 25 minutes. Remove the glass toy and carefully test the temperature before using. High heat may burn skin on contact. Avoid heating the toy in a microwave, on a stove top or over open flame.
To safely cool your glass toy
Begin with the glass toy already at room temperature. Take a large bowl and fill it with very cold tap water. Submerge the glass toy in the cold water for five minutes. Carefully pour out half of the water and fill the remainder of the bowl with ice. Allow the glass toy to set for 25 minutes. Remove the glass toy and test the temperature before using. A very cold temperature may damage skin on contact. Avoid chilling the toy in a freezer.
